Easily confused with
〜ことだから ことから reasons from an observed fact to a conclusion ('the window's broken, so a burglar got in'). ことだから reasons from someone's known character to a prediction ('knowing him, he'll be late'). 〜ので ので gives a plain cause ('because ~'). ことから specifically presents a fact as the evidence/grounds for an inference or for how a name or situation arose.
