When you can't use it
- Used for an undesirable, often serious outcome; the noun 危険性 ('riskiness, hazard') is more clinical than the everyday 恐れ.
Easily confused with
恐れがある Both flag a bad possibility. 恐れがある reads as a warning or forecast ('there's a fear that…', e.g. weather alerts); 危険性がある is more clinical, stressing concrete hazard, common in technical and safety writing. 可能性がある 可能性がある is neutral and covers any outcome — good, bad, or neutral; 危険性がある is reserved for a harmful one.
