Easily confused with
こうした こうした points at something close at hand or just introduced ('this kind'); そうした refers back to something already in the shared context ('that kind we mentioned'). ああした ああした (あ-series) is for something more removed or mutually known from outside the conversation; そうした stays within what was just discussed. そういう そういう is the everyday spoken form; そうした carries the same meaning but reads as more formal and is the most common of the こそあ-した set in writing.
