Easily confused with
となると となると is the plainer 'when it comes to / if that's the case'. ともなると adds も, stressing 'once things reach this notable level'. になる になると states a literal change of state or time ('when it becomes ~'). ともなると frames reaching a high level whose consequences are taken for granted. ときたら ときたら is an exasperated complaint-topic. ともなると neutrally raises a situation to a remarkable level.
