Easily confused with
として として names the role plainly; としては frames that role as a standpoint giving an opinion, or as a *standard* something is measured against ('for a ~, it's surprisingly…'). にしたら にしたら / にすれば takes the *feelings* of a person from their viewpoint ('from his point of view, it must feel…'); としては states a stance or judgment-standard, and works for organizations and categories too, not just people.
Notes
- Often drops the は in casual speech (私としてはむしろ → 私としちゃ). The judgment-standard sense pairs with an evaluation: 値段としては安い ('cheap for the price').
