connective N4 common casualpolite

〜てくれてありがとう — thank you for ~ing

〜てくれてありがとう ・ てくれてありがとう
Builds on て形

Meaning

The くれて is the heart of it: it frames the action as a favour done *to/for me*, so the gratitude lands on the kindness, not just the act. てくれてありがとう ('thanks for coming') feels warmer than a bare てありがとう. For a superior, raise it to 〜てくださってありがとうございます or 〜ていただきありがとうございます.
